Get involved without getting wet and muddy!
This event would not be possible without the support of its volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved but the idea of running through muddy trenches, climbing ladders and wading through rivers is not for you ………..why not Volunteer. All volunteers will be expected to attend an evening training session prior to the event. Date to be confirmed.
All volunteers will be expected to arrive 1 hour prior to the start of the event. We will do our best to arrange shift patterns during the day. Food and drink will be provided.
Course Marshal: Course marshals will work in pairs. You will be posted to a point on the course and will be responsible for recording the race numbers as they pass. Responsible for contacting Search and Rescue team and race organisers if there is an incident.
Remote Course Marshal: Remote course marshals will work in pairs. You will be posted to a remote part on the 12km courseand will be responsible for recording the race numbers as they pass. Responsible for contacting Search and Rescue team and race organisers if there is an incident through the radio network.
Water Station Marshal: Water station marshals will work in pairs. You will be posted to a water station on the course. You will be responsible for handing out water to the competitors. Responsible for contacting search and rescue team through the radio network if there is an incident.
Car Parking Marshals: Responsible for directing traffic.
Registration Tent: Checking in entries as competitors arrive on the day.
Bag Drop: Responsible for the manned bad drop for all competitors.
Competitor Tee Shirts: Responsible for handing out competitors tee shirts.
Sandpiper Merchandise: Responsible for sales in the sandpiper merchandise tent.
Warm Up Ring: Responsible for calling out times and checking in entries via the warm up ring.
Finish Line Funnel: Responsible for handing out medals, water and biscuits as the competitors come through the finish line.
